Archers prevail in a barn burner against the defending champions Waterdogs 19-18:

The Waterdogs and Archers faced off in a battle of two teams tied for first place. The 1st quarter was a wild one as the top squads combined to score the most points in an opening frame this season. Both teams certainly did not disappoint in living up to the hype in this game. The teams were very evenly matched. This contest featured a whopping seven ties between these two elite squads. The combined score in this matchup matched the highest point total in the PLL this season.  Archer’s captain and midfielder Tom Schreiber led the way for his team. Victor Wembanyama shines in the Summer League showcase.

The San Antonio Spurs number 1 overall pick and French phenom Victor Wembanyama showed why he can make an immediate impact in the NBA. After getting his feet wet in his Summer League debut on July 7th, Wembanyama was able to flip the script in a big way. Victor erupted for 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the Spurs next game on July 9th. As a part of his spectacular performance, Wembanyama knocked down a pair of three pointers and some amazing dunks. Wembanyama is an elite force when contesting shots on the defensive end. The NBA was put on notice when Wembanyama easily blocked the three-point attempt by the Charlotte Hornets number 2 overall pick, Brandon Miller....

The Denver Nuggets advanced to their 1st NBA Finals in team history after finishing off a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers 113-111:

Star duo Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray led the Nuggets to their first ever playoff series sweep and Conference Final title in the 47 year history of the franchise. Jokic earned a record breaking eighth triple double in this year’s playoffs. He broke a mark previously set by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain in the 1967 season. Jokic totaled 30 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Murray had 25 points in the game. The Denver Nuggets erased a 73-58 halftime deficit and outplayed the Lakers in the second half.  Denver was able to overcome an amazing 31-point performance in the first half by LeBron James. Florida Panthers outlasts the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1’s 4 OT marathon 3-2:

To get to the Eastern Conference Final, the Florida Panthers had to beat the mighty Boston Bruins and the talented Toronto Maple Leafs. The Panthers upset the record setting Bruins in a wild seven-game series. Florida had a much easier time against the Maple Leafs as they defeated them in five games.  The first game of the Eastern Conference Final was an exhilarating back and forth affair. It was the 6th longest game in NHL history. Hurricanes Center Seth Jarvis got his team on the board first just before the 1st period expired. Anthony Rizzo blasts two Home Runs on his Star Wars Mandalorian Bobblehead Night, as the Yankees come from behind to beat the Rays 6-5:

This is the Way! Anthony Rizzo had better check out the Mandalorian TV series after his amazing performance on Friday night. Rizzo tied up the score in the 1st with his first Home Run.  Rays’ slugger Randy Arozarena had given the Rays an early lead with a Home Run of his own. This game featured a few lead changes and plenty of power. Yankees rookie Shortstop Anthony Volpe had a big night as well. Volpe shot a Home Run out to the opposite field in the 5th.
