The New Jersey Devils bounce back in big way in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against
the Carolina Hurricanes 8-4:
The series against the Hurricanes started off in a similar fashion to the Rangers series. New Jersey dug
itself another 0-2 hole to start a playoff series.
Game 3, however, was a different story entirely. The Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead as the second
period got underway. New Jersey’s stars got back on track as Timo Meier notched his 1 st goal of the
playoffs. Stud Center Jack Hughes scored his 4 th and 5 th goal of the playoffs and added two assists.
This young Devils team believes that they can compete with anyone despite a big deficit. The Hurricanes
did not have a chance in this one as the Devils set the tone early with their toughness.
New Jersey cruised to the 8-4 victory after stealing the first four goals. Getting this win was huge as it
keeps this squad firmly in the series and not having to stare down an 0-3 climb. We will see if New Jersey
can ride this momentum going into game 4 on Tuesday night.
